Annual Testing — Best way to know if you pet is healthy is with annual blood, urine, and fecal testing. Routine tests are generally done as you wait. Tests may include a Complete Blood Count of white and red blood cells and platelets, and a Blood Chemistry Profile to see what’s happening on the inside — liver, kidney, and pancreas, and electrolytes. Other routine tests may be performed for heart worm and tick-borne diseases.
Advanced Imaging — X-rays (full body and dental radiographs) and more advanced imaging, such as abdominal sonogram or echocardiograms of the heart, may be recommended to help better illustrate your pet’s medical problem. The computerized digital technology available at BSAH parallels the best people hospitals with images that can be evaluated by our veterinarians even if they are not in the building.
Pet Surgery — Whether it is an emergency, minor surgery, routine dental care, or more advanced surgical intervention, safety of your beloved pet is our primary concern. Our surgical suite has state-of-the-art monitoring equipment, heated surgery table, lighting, and anesthesia machines that are the best available anywhere. You can expect that our surgical patients are monitored for blood oxygen, blood pressure, respiratory ease and heart rhythm (EKG), throughout their operation. Our patients will receive 24/7 care in our intensive care unit.
Pain Management — An integral part of our treatment plan. Frequently, laser therapy is provided while still in the operating room to promote healing and minimize post-operative pain. Rest assured, all patients receive post-operative pain medicine while under our care.
